Trend Micro AntiVirus and AntiSpyware Review
I have been using the Trend Micro AntiVirus and AntiSpyware software since July 21st 2009. I installed it on my Compaq laptop computer. My laptop uses the Microsoft Vista Operating System. I discovered during the set up process that the software was easy to install, and I did not need to use the Quick Start Card. Thankfully, before installing the software, I was prompted to remove the former security software. This was not the case when I installed Norton Security software on my desktop, last year. The previous software was not completely removed by the Norton program. Consequently, some aspects of the former software are still installed on my desktop, and I get constant prompts to run a MacAfee virus scan.
I chose the Trend Micro AntiVirus and AntiSpyware software because it was certified by Westcoast Labs. It was important for me to buy a software package that had been reviewed. The only difficulty that I have had with the product is that it seems to randomly block some websites. When this first happened, it took me some time and effort to fix the problem. I was able to go to the “Internet &Email controls” and add the URL to the list under the ‘Approved Website’ tab. This worked well, but when I went back later to make changes, I had forgotten my password. I was unable to retrieve it since I had not set up a ‘hint’. I did finally remember it, but it would have saved some time to have it emailed to me.
What I like most about the product is that it is easy to understand the menu, and find the controls and settings that I want to check on, or change. Overall I have been satisfied with the product. I would consider purchasing it again.
